In May 2016, Hagley Primary welcomed visitors from Wenhe Primary School in Yangzhou, China. Sixteen children and seven teachers flew over from Shanghai to stay with host families for 10 days. During their stay, they spent time in Year 5 where they took part in activities with the Year 5 children. We found out about each other’s lives by looking for similarities and differences between Hagley and Yangzhou. The children focused on school life, home life and human geography and worked together to produce a PowerPoint presentation to share their comparisons.
The Year 5 children have enjoyed spending time getting to know our visitors and we look forward to keeping in touch with them in the future.
Thank you for those families who opened their homes and hosted children and adults for the duration of their visit.
