School Closure - 04/01/2021

Dear Parents and Carers

As you will have seen from this evening's bulletin, Boris Johnson has announced a 6 week National lockdown which includes the closure of all schools with immediate effect.

We will once again be open to only the children of Key Workers, those children with SEND and those children eligible for Pupil Premium.

Whilst we understand the reasons behind this decision, we recognise the significant impact this will have to all pupils and families that are members of the school community.

Furthermore, the timing of this announcement places a significant logistical pressure on the school to safely prepare for the arrival of the groups of children listed above, and to prepare for the delivery of remote learning.

As a result, with the support of the Chair of Governors and in light of liaising with other schools, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close the school to all pupils tomorrow (Tuesday 5th January).

Tomorrow morning from 9am, parents will be invited to complete and submit an online Microsoft Form as a matter of urgency which will allow us to establish whether your child will be eligible for a place at school for the forthcoming weeks. We will ensure that the criteria for eligibility is made clear to you.  Please can we ask that you submit this form by 12noon at the latest. This will allow adequate time for the preparation of classrooms and the staffing of each group from Wednesday. The eligible list of key workers, as outlined in the government guidance, can be found here:

It is of the utmost importance that you continue to monitor your emails as we will be in contact tomorrow afternoon where we will be in a better position to share more information with you.

In the meantime, our remote learning, planned and made available before tonight's announcement, can be found on the school website for use tomorrow.

I am deeply sorry for the situation that has been presented to us tonight, and I apologise for the very short notice of this school closure tomorrow.

Kind regards

Thrive Ambassadors

We are delighted to announce that we now have four Thrive ambassadors in school.  The rigorous application process required the children to demonstrate how they displayed patience, care, support and resilience in school and in their homelife.    Congratulations to E Aston, F Hill,  N Smith and O Thompson. We know that you will all continue to help others.

Thank you Fabulous Fin!

A huge thank you to Finley Hill's family for sending in the beautiful flowers for planting around the school.  The sun is shining and gardening has now commenced!
