Reception arrival and collection

Parents enter through Cemetry Drive and walk up to Reception gate.  Arrival time is between 8.30am – 8.45am.  Home time is 2.55pm.

Ways to help at home

Encourage independence as much as possible! Where possible please encourage children to do the following independently:

  • Get dressed, including zips and buttons.
  • Use a knife and fork.
  • Toileting.
  • Carry their school bag and water bottle to and from school.
  • Walk to and from school (without being carried or using a pushchair).

Our Curriculum

This year the EYFS curriculum has been updated nationally, which is a very exciting time for us all. As such, we are changing some of the things we used to do and exploring new topics!

Topic

Please see our topic overviews for the year by clicking here! Please note, we adapt them over time depending on the needs and interests of the children.

Home Learning

Early on in the year we will begin to send home reading books. Initially these books will mainly be picture books, however this will change as we teach phonics and your children learn to read. We may also ask for other home learning contributions throughout the year linked to our topics. All of our home learning communication is done via Seesaw. Follow this link for some help with how to use it! https://www.loom.com/share/2130dc5f5bff4bdba2d4442b80a6014c

PE Kit

Reception children only need the following kit for PE:

  • Gold polo shirt with school logo
  • Green shorts (football style, not lycra) or skort (combined shorts/skirt)
  • Black pumps

Please note that Reception children do not need the outdoor tracksuit/hoodie or trainers.
